So here it is, after several months of research and writing the screenplay, we have our first production meeting for ‘Land of the Kami’.

I was so excited I could not wait to get on with the meeting and look at the reaction from the crew: Paul, Steve and Simon. Sadly Derek could not make it as he was attended a charity ball.

However I had learned many years ago that those guys need serious feeding before getting down to business. So after stuffing their faces with one of my best pasta dishes and ice cream we settled down to review the screenplay.

Those who know me well can tell you that I like of bit of drama and adding a little ‘je ne sais quoi’ to anything that I do. So I ceremoniously handed out the screenplay for ‘Land of the Kami’, a gorgeous ringbinder with a striking front cover (if I may write so myself). Inside the crew could find a description of their respective characters, production notes, and the screenplay of course.

We read the screenplay from cover to cover and it was such a pleasure to say the reaction on their faces. Paul, Steve and Simon were delighted with their characters and the storyline as well as the action scenes quite obviously.

Excitedly they asked questions and started investigating fight scenes and character development. They all left around midnight and we concluded the evening with a quick photoshoot.

What a wonderful start to the project!
