Paul, Steve and Simon have been busy developing their fight scenes. I watched some of their work on Paul’s mobile phone and the video clips looked awesome.
Steve managed to book a squash court at a local sports centre and also got some mats organised, they never stopped for 2 hours.
Those guys have worked together before and they will deliver some outstanding performances, have a look at those video clips:
Lessons for all film makers out there:
- Organise a training venue for your fighters, essential and can be difficult to find
- Have a camcorder or video phone to record your work
- Bring in character dimension as early as possible
- Give fight performers enough freedom during the creative process
- Get regular feedback from the fight choreographer
The plan is to let them work on their fight scenes for a few more weeks and then I will join them to bring in the emotional side of their characters. As the producer/director I feel it is important to guide the performers in combining physical and emotional expressions.
It is taking shape slowly but surely, how exciting!
